supports FireWire

Imaging & Framecapture Options

Imaging and framecapture capabilities can be added to most micro-line DSP configurations, allowing the high performance embedded DSP capabilities to be applied to a wide variety of image processing applications.

micro-line DSP Systems for Imaging

Video Framecapture

IIDC IEEE 1394a compatible FireWire digital cameras can be connected to FireWire enabled embedded DSP/FPGA boards. Optional DCAM Framecapture API software allows connected FireWire cameras to be controlled by the on-board DSP processor, and their image data captured into on-board memory for processing by the on-board DSP and FPGA resources.

Video Output

Optional software is also available to allow Firewire enabled micro-line DSP/FPGA boards to generate IIDC compliant real-time video output. When used, the output of the DSP/FPGA board appears on the FireWire network as a DCAM camera, with the video available for capture into a PC or other FireWire enabled device capable of interfacing with and capturing video from FireWire DCAM cameras.

Video Framecapture API Supported Camera Features

The following camera features are supported by the micro-line Framecapture API when used on a supported mico-line DSP/FPGA board:
