TMS320C6211 DSP board
supports industrial temperature operation
ITHACA,
NY, December 3rd, 2002: Traquair Data Systems, Inc. today announced
immediate availability of an industrial temperature version of the micro-line
C6211CPU embedded DSP board, providing full functionality for the -40°C
to +85°C industrial temperature range. The new option extends the
capabilities provided by the micro-line family of embedded DSP products
for commercial and industrial OEM applications.
The industrial
temperature version of the C6211CPU (Traquair Part Number M-C6211CPU-150-32-I)
uses an extended temperature qualified board design and is populated
with industrial temperature compliant components capable of operating
with case temperatures in the range of -40°C to +85°C. The board
combines a TMS320C6211 DSP Processor clocked at 150 MHz to provide up
to 1200MIPS of performance, 32MBytes of external SDRAM, and 512 KBytes
FLASH ROM, all in a small 98mm x 67mm form factor. Users have access
to an open bus interface for hardware expansion, two TMS320C6000™
McBSP ports, a programmable digital I/O interface, and a FLASH file
system that allows the user to store and handle FLASH application programs
easily via RS232 from a PC or laptop.
Industrial Temperature Qualified C6211CPU
The open bus interface
allows OEM developers to integrate the C6211CPU as a mezzanine resource
within their own hardware environment, or have the ability to add their
own memory mapped peripheral hardware as vertically stacking daughter
modules. The flexible architecture allows the DSP board to be enhanced
with up to seven additional peripheral resources, each controlled and
accessed by the DSP processor via its 20-bit address and 32-bit data
busses. A carrier board is optionally available, providing developers
with a ready to use desktop development environment capability.
