C6x11CPU TMS320C6211 / TMS320C6711 Embedded DSP Board

The micro-line C6x11CPU DSP board combines either a fixed point TMS320C6211 or a floating point TMS320C6711 DSP Processor with SDRAM, FLASH ROM and the micro-line bus interface.

Designed for OEM developers looking to reduce time to market while lowering total cost, the C6x11CPU lets developers maximize software creativity and minimize high density, high frequency hardware design for their industrial embedded DSP applications.

The C6x11CPU DSP board is not recommended for new designs. The C6713CPU and C641xCPU boards are the same small size and provide higher performance at lower cost.

An optional micro-line power supply functions as a base for a micro-line stack of DSP, data acquisition and I/O boards. It delivers power to the micro-line stack and provides additional services such as RS-232 communications connector, a reset button and a power-on indicator. OEM developers may wish to mount the micro-line stack on their own hardware.

Interfacing Options

A rich suite of peripheral & I/O options are provided for interfacing with micro-line DSP boards. These include serial and parallel digital I/O, analog conversion, 400MBit/sec IEEE 1394 FireWire communications, and direct access to the micro-line bus for memory mapped peripheral hardware design and integration.

Networking & Connectivity

IEEE 1394a FireWire support, provided by the optional SC1394a FireWire Interface, facilitates C6x11CPU integration with with other embedded DSP resources, cameras, sensors, and Host Computers. Operating at 100MBit/sec, 200MBit/sec or 400MBit/sec, FireWire provides guaranteed bandwidth for mission critical applications, live connect/disconnect, and many other impressing features.

10/100Base-T Ethernet communications can be added to to the C6711CPU, using the SC100BaseTx daughtercard and the Windmill Innovations RFC and eXpressDSP compliant bf3Net TCP/IP protocol stack.

Imaging and Framecapture Capabilities

Imaging and framecapture configurations are easily realized, with support for IIDC IEEE 1394a FireWire Digital Cameras which can be added to most micro-line DSP configurations.

Development Tools & Software

Software Tools
A range of development tools & software provides support for code generation, source level debugging, pre-emptive multi-tasking, as well as downloading and managing FLASH ROM resident application software on the DSP boards, and FireWire support.
