CAN PC interfaces and adapters allow PC application and software monitoring tools to connect and interact with CAN resources. USB, PCI Express, and Ethernet can be used for this, with support for Windows and Linux, and options for CANopen and J1939 higher layer protocols.

Interface Options

The CPC-USB/ARM7 provides a USB to CAN Bus interface in a robust metal housing.

Options available for galvanic isolation, low speed operation, and high voltage tolerance, RJ45 CAN connector.

The CPC-USB/embedded provides a USB to CAN Bus interface on a small, unmounted PCB.

It is ideally suited for space constrained applications, and as an internal USB interface for embedded / industrial PCs.

The CPC-PCIe provides a PCI Express to CAN Bus interface for PCIe x1 slots, and support for 1, 2, or 4 independent CAN channels.

The EtherCAN CI-ARM9/RMD provides a powerful rail-mounting Ethernet to CAN Bus gateway. It easily supports communications to CAN bus resources via the PCs Ethernet connection.

CAN Development Kits for Windows & Linux

CAN Development Kits for Windows and Linux provide the resources necessary for developers to interface their own applications with CPC family of CAN Bus PC Interfaces. They are available at no cost to our customers. Please contact us to request access from here after login.




SocketCAN provides an alternative software interface for Linux. It is an open source, vendor independent software interface and is included with the current active release of Linux (i.e. download form here not required). The following products are supported:

Please note, if you are interested in using the proCANtool CAN monitoring software suite, you will need to switch from SocketCAN to CPC drivers (included with the CAN Development Kit for Linux).
